My number one goal as a teacher is to help students develop as musicians (and as people, it is the same) in a safe, honest environment, where a student can fail, analyze why, then move on, learning from the experience.
Who do I teach?
The most important trait that I want to see in a student is having a desire to learn. As a young musician, I had a few teachers that would not want to bother with me because they felt I wasn't special or good enough to study with them. If a student wants to learn and put in the work, I will be there for them.

I am a woodwind doubler, meaning I perform on several woodwind instruments. Saxophone is my primary instrument but I have a strong background with clarinet and flute. I also play oboe and bassoon but would prefer only to work with beginners on those instruments.

Why do I teach?
Over the last few years I have rediscovered the joy that music brought to me as a young musician, and the outlet it provided during my early years. I want to provide a safe space for musicians to develop and became the best versions of themselves.

Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania

Bachelor of Music Education from Central Michigan University

Associate of Applied Science in Chemical Process Technology from Delta College (yes this is out of place ask me if you want to more)
Experience

I taught applied saxophone and jazz history at the University of Toledo for eight years.

I taught concert saxophone at Blue Lake Fine Arts camp for seven years.

I was a middle school band and choir director for two years and taught elementary general music for one.

I have performed in numerous situations from concert performing, musicals, jazz and even rock bands.
